Concerning the villages in Poland. Give "Where we once walked" a
try. It is located at the University of Toronto Map Library (ask
the staff to look it up for you). This book is a gazetteer of Jewish
+ communities
that were destroyed bt the Nazis during World War 2. It gives excellent
cross references and translations of Russian, Polish and German into/from
each other.
