Angie,

We do collect all of those varieties of maps as long as they are
pertinent to our collection development policy.
So, they need to be for Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain West as well as
western national parks. Since this
is our historic map collection as opposed to our regular map collection
which is housed in the geology library,
these materials do not circulate. Our special collections department
has only been operational since January 2010
and so I cannot give you circulation information. We are also
digitizing all copyright free maps in this collection.

One of the types of maps that we have collected over the years are AAA
maps, National Geographic maps, state maps published by the state, bike
maps.

I was wondering how many of you collect these types of maps. Do they get
circulated a lot? Do you see any value on having them and retaining
them? Do you catalog them and add them to your online catalog?

Any help you can give me would be most appreciated.
