We've had compact map shelving for 20 years now. I had no input on
choosing it however. TAB was the contractor for all the shelving in the
new building and they got us SAFCO map cabinets for the regular 50 inch
wide drawers (with short metal flaps at the front to keep maps in) and
Hamilton 75 inch drawers for oversize maps (with dust covers, which
don't stay connected in the back well at all). They are muscle powered
compact map shelving only, no push button operation. They have worked
well for 20 years, much better than some of the push button book
shelving has. Even loaded they moved rather easily, but they are only 15
drawers high. Some of the rows are seven cabinets long.

Arlyn

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations for compact shelving for
map cases?

Thanks,
Rob
