Subject: FDLP Study: Final Report Outline

STUDY TO IDENTIFY MEASURES NECESSARY FOR A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION
TO A MORE ELECTRONIC FEDERAL DEPOSITORY LIBRARY PROGRAM (FDLP)

In order to promote and ensure the public's right to timely,
equitable, and cost effective access to government information in
the "information age," the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO),
at congressional direction, initiated a cooperative study last
September to identify measures necessary for a successful
transition to a more electronic Federal Depository Library
Program (FDLP). The study is now being completed and will be
available to Congress at the end of March 1996.

As part of the study, GPO established task forces to gather
information. Each task force report has been posted to this list
as a separate message.

GPO is now compiling the final report of the study. Included
below is an outline of the report. The draft of each section of
the report will be released individually as soon as they are
completed.

Although time is short, your comments are welcome. You can send
