Subject: Working in a map-library in America

(Excuse me if this mail already exists, but the first time I found a
rejection by mailserver, not clear to me)

Dear Sirs and Madams,

my name is Bernd Martin Rohde, and I shortly have finished studying
library-science at the Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences) in
Stuttgart, Germany, graduated as Diplom-Bibliothekar (Diploma-Librarian).
My diploma work, titled "Landkartendrucke vor 1850" (Printed maps before
1850), deals with history of map-making in southwestern germany, with maps

in libraries in Baden-Wuerttemberg, the southwestern state of germany, and

with the IKAR-database (http://ikar.sbb.spk-berlin.de), a database where
all libraries in Germany can catalogue their maps directly in.
Normaly in Germany a librarian is not specialisied in maps when he finishs

school. In fact, I would like to work in a map-library, but jobs in german

map-libraies are very rare. But I am also interested in brushing up my
english, so at this time I have the ability and I am interested in working

for one or two years in a map-library in the United States or in Canada.
So I have the question: Is there any library in America interested in
having me working for one or two years in their map-collection?
I would be glad to send You my refences (pdf, as e-mail-attachment or on
paper as letter), if You have the ability to give me the chance and at
least a payment (for rent, food etc., not the flight).
Many thanks for your answers!

yours sincerely,
Bernd Martin Rohde
