Subject: Re: Historical Atlases (fwd)

My favorite in recent years is the New Zealand Historical Atlas; 1997;
published by Bateman; ISBN 1-86953-335-6; avail through
www.southpacificbooks.co.nz

It exemplifies the capabilities of both high quality GIS visualization
and cartographic/graphic design, in addition to outstanding content.

I'd also suggest the Historical Atlas of Canada (series), which is
developing a website currently (see
http://mercator.geog.utoronto.ca/hacddp/page1.htm  )
