Subject: Creative ideas for superceded map disposal

We're trying to find productive and unusual ways to get rid of our
superceded FDLP maps. Currently, all topos are given to our
Geology/Geography Dept.

How, and to whom, do other libraries (especially academic-we primarily
serve a student population of 24000) give away their
nautical/aeronautial maps?
