The following information is summarized from:
ESIC Information Bulletin, no. 435, dated 9/10/98
 
USGS Map Lists are available at:
 
http://mapping.usgs.gov/mac/maplists.html
 
The online lists contain all of the information previously available only
in the paper State Map Lists (the successor to the brown "Catalog of
Published Maps").
 
Users can generate the list by state, produce custom lists, search for
specific map titles, and search for maps by lat/long.
(NOTE: A complete list printed from the web will be more than three times
longer than the comparable list printed from EarthFax.)
 
Links are provided to MapFinder, where the location of the 1:24K maps can
be viewed, and to Global Land Information System (GLIS), where maps can be
ordered.
