I am looking for some information about maps that Gerhard Penner may have
produced.  He was a lithographer for the "U.S. Lake Survey" from 1890 to
1920.  According to one source he produced maps of "exquiste delicacy"
 
Can anyone give me more information about these maps, especially of Lake
Michigan?
