Is this on the actual paper map, or only apparent in the DRG?

DRGs are made by scanning paper maps, and this sort of error could
easily result if the map didn't feed through the scanner properly.

If you've seen it on the printed map, one prepared by traditional
negative-plate printing, that's harder to understand.
