A patron at the University of Iowa is looking for map sheets which
are missing from our collection of the 1:25 000 maps of Germany
("Topographische karte" 1:25 000 by the "Reichsamt fur Landesauf-
nahme," and earlier by the "Preussichen Landesaufnahme," during
WW II and preceding decades). He also wants to find some similar
maps of Poland, 1:25 000, by the Wojskowy Instytut Geograficzny
in the 1930s.
The man who's searching for information that's on some of the maps
we are missing here realizes that he may need to travel to the
libraries that hold these maps and use them on site (within the
U.S., that is!).
If anyone has a rather extensive collection of either the German
or Polish 1:25 000 maps, will you let me know? Then the patron
will be able to contact you about the specific sheets he is trying
to locate. Thank you very much.
