Jacek Ruminski asked for info on the UTM grid system.  For those of
you who need background information on it, I recommend Peter H. Stott's
article: "The UTM Grid Reference System" which appeared in the Journal of
the Society for Industrial Archeology (v.3, no.1 1977).
