will be holding a one day course - Mapping the Way - introductory
training for Map Librarians and Curators on Wednesday 10 March 2004
at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The programme:
9.30 Registration and coffee
10.00-10.45 Acquisitions: April Carlucci (British Library)
10.45-11.30 Map production materials of the recent past - the present
problems: Eunice Gill & Brian Thomas (The National Archives) [The
talk will include architectural drawings as well as maps because of
the obvious overlaps in materials used]
11.30-11.50 Tea break
12.00-13.00 Cataloguing: Paula Williams (National Library of Scotland)
13.00-14.00 LUNCH
14.15-15.00 Conservation and repair: Simon Hopkins (West Sussex Archives and
Record Office)
15.00-15.45 Security: Tom Moulton (British Library)

There will also be an exhibition
