_Another reason to attend the RMCA Map EXPO in Dallas Sept. 21-22 _

_ _

For the first time we will have a distinguished guest speaker at the
dinner Friday night. Professor Dennis Reinharz from the University of
Texas at Arlington will speak on “Mapping Roads through History”. Prof.
Reinharz received his Ph.D. from New York University and has taught at
Rutgers University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of
London and others to name a few. He is a well-known published author and
his most recent book is MAPPING AN EMPIRE: SOLDIER-ENGINEERS ON THE
SOUTHWESTERN FRONTIER (University of Texas Press, 2005). Additionally,
he contributes to many magazines e.g.. 'How Wide the World': Geography,
Maps, and the Teaching of American History," MAGAZINE OF HISTORY and
"History, Geography, and Maps: Teaching World History," TEACHING HISTORY
as examples. Dr. Reihnarz is also the past president of the Texas Map
Society.

Not only do we have this lined up for dinner but also there will be an
outstanding exhibit displaying “Texas Road Maps and Motoring History”
that you will not want to miss. In addition, of course to the thousands
of maps that will be available at the tables. It is not too late to
register at roadmaps.org. See you in Big D.

Checkout the RMCA website www.roadmaps.org <http://www.roadmaps.org/> to
register.
