NYPL does much the same thing. On the PhotoServices site [button is at
bottom of NYPL page] there is a selection of "popular" images, in addition
there are the images on our Digital Gallery, available for purchase from
Pictopia. Anything newly digitized goes to one of these two sites, and is
only scanned once.
