I am interested in learning from those of you who have posted job
descriptions in the last year or two for a GIS Librarian/Specialist how
you determined if this position should be filled by a librarian with a
MLS or equivalent, as opposed to a GIS specialist in another job
classification series. I am also interested in collecting such job
descriptions as we begin to more seriously consider options for future
staffing of our GIS program.  My hunch is that these are difficult
positions to fill because of the competitive salaries in private firms
and industry compared to academic libraries. Please send such information
