Subject: GPO's New Depository Librarian's Institute Registration and Preliminary Information

GPO is hosting a New Depository Librarian's Institute, a 1-day pre-conference to the Federal Depository Library Council Meeting and Depository Library Conference. The pre-conference will be held at GPO headquarters on April 29, 2014, and many sessions will be broadcast virtually for those unable to attend.

The Institute is recommended for new depository staff unfamiliar with FDLP operations, and GPO requirements for depository libraries. It will address topics such as item selection for the FDLP libraries, physical processing of tangible titles, box processing, working with item selection profile(s), public access requirements, and the role of regional depository libraries.

Information about the New Depository Librarian's Institute is now available online. A preliminary agenda and onsite registration form are posted. More news, including detailed program information, will be announced soon.
