Debra, excuse me but we have been here before.
 
Many black students at Berkeley no longer support preferential admissions
because they believe it implies that black students cannot compete on
merit.  And many of their non-black collegues feel the same.
 
This business with women in CS sounds very similar.  Does this mean that
unqualified women will be given PhDs to retain grant funding?   Does that
mean that women with PhDs will be assumed to be incompentent beans in
some giant bean counting game?   This is extremely unfair to men and
women.  Too bad it is sooooo PC.   Dave
