I'm asking this question for a colleague not on this list. Does anyone
know the status of the USGS County Map Series? (I 19.108:, Item numbers
619-P-1 through 53 for depositories.) In a previous position at another
institution with a large collection I seem to remember that we had spotty
coverage for less than half a dozen states, and it seems like Wisconsin and
maybe Iowa were among them. My current collection selects only Tennessee
and we don't appear to have ever received a map since our designation in
1968. The item numbers appear on this year's list of item selections from
the Government Printing Office. Is this a very old series that pre-dates
1960s-designated collections or a newer one that hasn't quite got off the
ground? Anyone from USGS out there?

Replies to me or the list, with thanks in advance--
