Subject: Geologic Map Collection and Journals Looking For a Good Home

No, not the USGS map collection in Reston.

Doug Kinney, a USGS geologic map editor from 1956 to 1980, is moving out of
his house of 49 years. Over the years, he has collected about 300 or 400
geologic maps. They are both USGS and non-Survey, and include maps of
foreign areas. Since his new apartment does not have space for them, he
would like to offer them up to a library that could use them.

In addition to the maps, he has a complete collection of AAPG Bulletins
from 1940 to 1990, and a large number of GSA Bulletins.

If you are interested in any of these collections, call him directly at
301-652-8988, between 10:00 and 4:00 eastern time. Leave a message if you
do not get him.

Lets find a good home for these maps.

Thanks,

Bob Bier

P.S. This will be posted to Maps-L and GeoNet..
