We have "one of those questions," and we are stuck. A patron is asking
about a place called Geischen, a town in East Germany or Poland. I have
checked the BGN gazetteers for Poland, East Germany, West Germany,
Czechoslovakia, USSR without success. I tried reversing the e and the i
in Geischen, but still no luck. Tried Place Name Changes Since 1900,
and tried Andrees Handatlas for 1924, but nothing.
Patron wants to know:
if the place still exists and, if so, in which country is it now
has it undergone a name change
Any help much appreciated.
