NOTE: There is no registration on Saturday, August 12, due to the Sabbath, there however will be Friday and from Sunday on registration from 7:30 - 16:00. Sunday, August 13, 2000 13:00 - Visit to Hebrew University on Mt. Scopus--Geography Dept. and Map Library - bus or taxi on own. Monday, August 14, 2000 11:00 - 16:00 - Visit to Sorek and Beit-Guvrin caves - $10 - $20 per person depending on participation, admission charge of about $2.50, and transportation expense to be determined. Tuesday, August 15, 2000 7:00 - 9:00 Travel to Tel Aviv to the Survey of Israel 9:00 - 11:00 Tour and presentations at SOI 11:00 - 12:00 Return to Conference Center Travel can be arranged by air-conditioned taxi for $25 each. I need hotel name and passport number. Eva Wajntraub, The Israel Map Collectors Society, has arranged a program from afternoon to evening. 15:00 - Meet bus at Conference Center 15:30 - 16:30 1) Visit the Shrine of the Book to see the Dead Sea Scrolls 2) Yemenite Exhibition at the Israel Museum 16:30 - 17:30 Visit Holyland Hotel Model of 2nd Temple 17:30 - 18:15 Possible visit to CARTA 18:15 - 19:00 Visit to Steimatsky's Bookshop 19:30 - 20:30 Visit home of map collector Dr. G. Wajntraub 20:45 - 21:45 CHIHULY (glass sculpture) by night at the Tower of David Museum 22:00 Return to Hotels Cost per person is $40. Please RSVP. Wednesday, August 16, 2000 8:00 - 12:30 Walking Tour of Old City Meet at Jaffa Gate. Tour is free, but you must request a "WEDNESDAY" ticket when you pick up your registration materials. Thursday, August 17, 2000 9:00 - 13:00 Laor Map Collection at the National Library **Please Note** Standing Committee-II will meet at the Laor Collection following our visit. We must complete business by 13:00 at the closing of the collection. I hope this will be a help in planning for those coming to Jerusalem.
