No examples of this practice are given in OCLC's MARC field help, but there are examples in LC's MARC 21 Concise Format for Bibliographic Data at: http://lcweb.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/ OCLC CatME will validate decimal degrees using + and - and 3 decimal points. But carrying out the decimal degrees to 4 decimal points gives a "too long" error message. The LC examples show 5 decimal points.
