-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Japanese topo maps of Korea Date: Fri, 14 Mar 2003 15:36:44 +1300 From: "Brian Marshall" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> ------------------ I have been asked by one of our teaching staff if our library can purchase a volume of topographical maps of Korea. According to the verbal information given to me (which is fairly vague) the maps were at a scale of 1:50,000, and were originally printed by the Japanese government when Korea was part of the Japanese Empire (1910-1945). The maps have been reprinted, in the form of a book, edited by Professor Young-Woo Nam. If anyone knows of this volume, and can supply the full bibliographical details, that would be very much appreciated. If the cost is known as well, that would also help. Many thanks, Brian Marshall Brian Marshall Subject Librarian- Geography & Environmental Science University of Auckland Library Private Bag 92019 Auckland, NEW ZEALAND Telephone: 64 - 9 - 3737599 extension 88452 Fax: 64 - 9 - 3737568 Web: http:www.auckland.ac.nz/lbr/geog/geohome.htm "It is not good for the soul to travel faster than the trot of a camel".
