These have been loaded on a shared website of Florida institutions called the Publication of Archival Library and Museum Materials. To view go to: http://palmm.fcla.edu I am very pleased with the results, which were done by our Digital Library Center. If you have any technical questions please contact Erich Kesse, Head of the George A Smathers Digital Library Center at: [log in to unmask] A while ago, I had heard that a project might be done to scan all of the older scale topographic quadrangles but have not heard anything recently. Our Library plans to scan the older 7.5 minute Florida quadrangles in the future. However, our current priorities are the antique map collection, Florida Aerials and Sanborn maps. Please email me if you wish to contact our GIS specialist. Is any one else out there doing such a thing? I have seen that the University of Alabama has already done this for their state (http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/historicalmaps/counties.html). I'm wondering if anyone has heard if this is a project that might be done at a national level. Also, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using scanned maps with any programs such as ContentDM. Any comments would be appreciated.
