================================================ MAPS-L ** MAPS-L ** MAPS-L ** MAPS-L ** MAPS-L ================================================ Subject: Relief question Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2005 From: Curtis, Gwen <[log in to unmask]> To: Maps, Air Photo & Geospatial Systems Forum <[log in to unmask]> I just want to express my appreciation to those of you who responded to my question about structure maps, both on and off the list. In summary, it seems that you all agree that the Relf code "a" should only be used when describing the ground surface, where the contours (isolines) on structure maps are representing the subsurface. It was also suggested that if the title of the map includes the word structure, then it isn't really necessary to add a note regarding the contours. Thanks again! ********************************** Gwen Curtis Geology Library and Map Collection University of Kentucky Libraries 410C King Library Addition Lexington, KY 40506-0039 Phone: (859) 257-1853 Fax: (859) 323-3225 Email: [log in to unmask]
