The maps are quite clear. Township names are sans serif I believe, and diagonal? [maybe not] on the page. Anyway, take a look. County outlines tend to be fairly clear, bolder than anything else, and the maps are relatively clean, as they only have rrs, no roads. More recent CA&M atlases have reduced scale and "different" cartography, so not so useful for several reasons, but especially for townships, many of which have been demapped or dissolved politically in recent years.
