These few questions arose as a consequence of some recent classwork. I was wondering if the Functional Requirments for Bibliographic Records (FRBR; http://www.oclc.org/research/projects/frbr/default.htm ) protocols are making their way into the world of cartographic cataloging, either modern or antiquarian? Also, are there any ongoing projects involving the approach? Part of this related to a recent U. California position paper quite critical of existing exisiting cataloging methods ( http://libraries.universityofcalifornia.edu/sopag/BSTF/ExecSum.pdf ).

Thanks for any information. Joel Kovarsky
