The successful candidates will contribute to general reference service, teach general and course-related library instruction, select resources, create research guides, document collections for accreditation purposes, provide individual research consultation sessions, and serve as liaison to and perform collection development activities for academic programs. The Business Librarian serves programs in advertising, accounting, business administration, computer information systems, computer science, finance, management, marketing, and resort & hospitality management. The Engineering Librarian serves programs in science & engineering. FGCU librarians enjoy a technology-rich environment where assessment, innovation, professional development, and excellent service are emphasized. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, instructional design, and presentation skills, strong organizational and time management skills, knowledge of issues and trends in academic libraries, and an understanding of information and instructional technologies. FGCU is a rapidly growing public university; the library has 300K volumes, a 30-member staff, and a $2.7M budget. A major library expansion is under construction and will be completed in mid-2007.
