The field trip has been organized for the Saturday. Spots are limited (42 people maximum). The itinerary is as follows: Morning: Tour of the McGill Rare Book Room and their maps, and the Pointe-a-Callieres museum. Lunch: At the Atwater Market Afternoon: Bus tour of Old Montreal, Lachine Canal and Mountain. The bus tour is called: "Between River and Mountain: A First Encounter with the City". An alternative introduction to the city's history, culture and architecture. From the heights of Mount Royal to the industrial south-west and the riverfront in Old Montreal, this unusual tour, which is especially designed for visitors from Quebec or elsewhere, explores the basic patterns of Montreal's social reality.
