The EdUC brings together educators at all levels to discuss the uses of GIS for teaching, research, and informal education. The conference is August 2-5, 2008 in San Diego, CA. The deadline for submitting proposals is *November 2, 2007*, and the web site is http://www.esri.com/events/educ/papers/callforpapers.html. If you have suggestions for topics for a panel discussion or a hands-on computer workshop, please contact me at [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Also, the Proceedings from the 2007 Education User Conference are available online at http://gis.esri.com/library/userconf/educ07/index.html. Finally, I am pleased to announce the launch of the ESRI Education Community Web portal (edcommunity.esri.com <http://edcommunity.esri.com>). The portal is designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences, curriculum, and data between GIS educators around the globe. The site is open to anyone with an interest in GIS in education, and includes several tools for collaboration and exchange. You can find instructional materials, review existing materials, or suggest new materials for others to use. You can also search the ESRI GIS Education Bibliography for literature about the use of GIS in Education, or the ESRI Library Bibliography for literature covering all aspects of GIS. Note: the GIS Education Bibliography is a work in progress and contributions are welcome. cheers, Angela Lee ************************************** Angela Lee ESRI Education Programs 880 Blue Gentian Rd, Suite 200 St Paul, MN 55121-1596 651-994-0823 [log in to unmask] www.esri.com/libraries <http://www.esri.com/libraries> Participate in the ESRI Education Community edcommunity.esri.com <http://edcommunity.esri.com/>
