(6 authors, mostly from UC Berkeley) entitled "Geographic Search: Catalogs, Gazetteers, and Maps" that may be of interest to map people, though it also pertains to geographic searching for non-map resources. It looks at the kinds of geographic data that catalog records contain but that are underused for searching purposes, discusses extending search capabilities, georeferencing place name authority records, and using maps as catalog interfaces.
