It has one of the largest and most important holdings of maps, plans and architectural drawings in the world. Do you have a lively interest in working with and researching into cartographic materials, and experience of work in an archives or similar environment? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small specialist team, to develop and share knowledge of these maps. You will undertake a wide range of cataloguing tasks, and supervise non-specialist staff on placements with the team. You will communicate information about maps by writing guides and giving talks. You will also contribute about 10 hours a week to our enquiry and advice services. This post requires a high level of editorial skills, together with a wide cartographic knowledge and broad awareness of the range of our archives. Excellent communication skills are essential, preferably including at least one European language (in addition to English).
