-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Aerial images and copyright Date: Mon, 14 Jul 2008 15:58:43 -0400 From: Michael Page <[log in to unmask]> To: Maps, Air Photo & Geospatial Systems Forum <[log in to unmask]> I have a set of oblique angle historic images that we would like to digitize and make available. Does anyone have a good resource to review copyright rules? It has been my understanding that if a company or institution had contracted an aerial surveyor to take the photographs then the company/institution would assume the copyright from the photographer and would be free to publish as they wish. Thanks in advance for your comments.
