In reply to Riley and Mary- I knew about the book, we don't have it. And what I'm trying to do is make a public access tool and the old indexes are the best for that. I can put our holdings in the old fashioned way with a ruler and a red pen- and those little bitty Avery labels you can run through the printer make the index considerably more legible than my handwriting would. I had a nice old index map for New Mexico that I have marked up, but needed indices for the other three four corners states- that's all we are going to hang on to. Albeit many 15' quadrangles were issued in those states in the '40s, '50s, and '60s.
