I regret that I don't have anyone to suggest; but, may I use the same theme sometime? Does anybody know if US Gov't-produced maps/charts have ever featured work--cartography, illustration, etching, etc.--done by otherwise well known artists? I know about James Whistler's brief Coast Survey career, and have several War Dep't Newsmaps that feature illustrations by Dr. Seuss and others (e.g., http://digital.library.unt.edu/permalink/meta-dc-951:2). I know the theme's a little fuzzy, but if anybody has add'l suggestions or ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks very much. mf -- Michael Fry Government Information, Maps and GIS Services 4118 McKeldin Library University of Maryland College Park, MD 20742 301.314.1357 | [log in to unmask]
