Now's Your Chance! Please excuse this cross-posting to GOVDOC-L & GODORT-L Are you new to government information librarianship? A documents expert attending your first ALA or hoping to get involved in GODORT after a long absence? A reference librarian or library school student who wants to learn more about the value of government information? If any of these apply to you, please consider being involved in the GODORT Buddy program! This is a new program, being piloted at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago where participants will be assigned a GODORT "buddy" who is an active member in GODORT to answer questions and give you a personal introduction to our community. Your GODORT Buddy will meet you at the GODORT Reception on Friday night, introduce you to other members at the reception and provide you with an information packet relevant to GODORT. They will meet with you at least one more time during the conference to follow up on your experience and answer additional questions you might have. If you would like to be assigned a GODORT Buddy for the Annual Conference in Chicago, please fill out this form http://tinyurl.com/m5cfpj or see the GODORT wiki (http://wikis.ala.org/godort/index.php?title=GODORT_%22Buddy%22_Program) for more information. If you have any questions please contact Rebecca Hyde, Chair, GODORT Membership Committee at [log in to unmask] or 858-534-4175. Thank You! GODORT Membership Committee
