It's worth asking Mayline or the other vendors if their products are lockable also, since it does seem to be hard to find on company websites. We also just purchased 2 of the locking mechanisms to make some of our older cases lockable. They are working well so far. -Katie Katie Lage Map Librarian Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library University Libraries University of Colorado at Boulder 184 UCB Boulder, CO 80309 ph. 303-735-4917 fax 303-735-4879 http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/map/ -----Original Message----- From: Maps, Air Photo & GIS Forum [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Maps-L Moderator Sent: Monday, November 16, 2009 11:13 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Flat file locking cabinet -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Flat file locking cabinet Date: Mon, 16 Nov 2009 11:29:22 -0500 From: March, Greg <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Hello, We have a collection of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps that I want to keep secure. So far, all I have been able to come up with is this art supply store that sells a locking device for Mayline Flat File Cabinets http://www.utrechtart.com/dsp_view_product.cfm?item=39649. I have already been to the WAML Map Librarians Toolbox and checked the big manufacturers with no luck. Are there any flat file manufacturers that make a cabinet that locks, or is this the only option. Thank you, -Greg Gregory H.
