-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Cartographic Users Advisory Council Meeting, June 24-25, 2010 Date: Thu, 3 Jun 2010 15:37:58 -0500 (CDT) From: Linda R Zellmer <[log in to unmask]> To: Angela R Cope <[log in to unmask]> Hello, The 2010 Annual Cartographic Users Advisory Council (http://cuac.wustl.edu) meeting will be held at the George Mason University Arlington Campus, outside of Washington, D.C. on June 24-25, 2010. CUAC is an organization of representatives of major library organizations that work with maps and spatial data and advocates for library access to maps and spatial data produced by U.S. Government agencies. This meeting gives map and cartographic information users the opportunity to communicate the value and use of cartographic information produced by the participating federal agencies. We will have a representative from NOAA this year as well as representatives from Data.gov. Please share your suggestions, concerns and issues that should be taken to the group and presented to Federal Agencies with us. This year each agency will include a discussion of the following questions in their presentations: -What mapping work or geospatial data collection is being done by your agency? -What are your agency's plans for distribution of printed maps? -What are your agency's plans for distribution of geospatial data? -How are you archiving digital maps and data that are produced by your agency? In the event of a catastrophe, is the data mirrored in another site? -What archival formats are you using and why? Further details about the meeting will be forthcoming. Please send comments to Clara McLeod ([log in to unmask]) or Linda Zellmer ([log in to unmask]). Thank you.
