You will be contacted for payment NO, only available via download from Earth Explorer information and when data is staged for FTP. ¤ Declassified satellite imagery only. Several scans may be required to capture an entire scene from the 70 mm rolls, but cost will be $30 per scene. This imagery is scanned at 7 microns. * Subject to availability. The USGS is actively scanning millions of archived photographs, but it is a work-in-progress. If the “Downloads” column on Earth Explorer is labeled “N/A”, then only the $30 high-resolution scan is available. Customers may download & examine samples of high & medium resolution scans at: http://edc.usgs.gov/phoenix_iv/new_york/ 9 x 18 photos are treated as 1 file for download & billing purposes. Files will be twice the normal size. No discounts (ex: “Official USGS Use”) to anyone. Customers must order high-resolution scans of photographs on the EarthExplorer (EE) website. The customer must do it themselves – we will not create the order on their behalf. Customers must choose 25 micron (1,000 DPI) or 14 micron (2,400 DPI) scans. A $5 handling fee is charged per order. FTP is the only available media. No CD or DVD. After selecting photos, microns, and entering their EE User ID and password, a message appears saying: “You will be contacted to arrange for payment”. At this point, EE instantaneously sends USGS Business Partners in Denver an email notifying them of the order. Business Partners then contacts the customer for payment information. CREDIT CARDS and CHECKS are accepted as forms of payment. Orders from overseas customers sometimes have wire transfers of $$ - this is also acceptable. NO PURCHASE ORDERS. After getting payment information, Business Partners contacts EROS once a week via email giving details of the past week’s finalized orders. Checks and wire transfer details must be in possession of Business Partners before an order proceeds. If a customer’s not satisfied with the product, EROS will rescan it, but NO REFUNDS. EROS scanning policy is: first in – first out. Typical turnaround time is 4 weeks between order placement on EE and image being staged. 9 x 18 photos: still $30 Declassified imagery: every scanned photo costs $30, even though several passes may be required to capture it all. Same for other unconventional storage formats. ***************************************************************** John C.
