Hi Paula

BGS/GSI/GSNI have collaborated on a project to provide the early Irish geological maps online. They can be found at http://www.geologicalmaps.net/IrishHistMaps/index.cfm. We have recorded the marginal information relating to the geology but not the underlying OSI topo statements.

Subject: 1850s one-inch mapping of Ireland

Dear All,

We continue to investigate the possibility of doing some work on Ireland and would like to know if anyone has copies of the one inch mapping done of Ireland in the 1850s, primarily as a base map for geologists?
We are aware that the National Library of Ireland and the Glucksman Map library probably both have copies, but we were wondering if there are any closer to us?
Also can someone tell me how many sheets make up the complete set?

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

With regards,

Paula
