Hi Kris,
Not sure if this is what you're looking for.
710 1 _ &a United States. &b Works Progress Administration
of Louisiana.
710 2 _ &a Orleans Levee District. &b Board of Commissioners
There seems to be a report: A flood protection plan for Orleans
Parish, 1973 where the map may have come from. Looks like New
Orleans Public Library has that 1973 report. Perhaps you can ILL it
... This map looks like one of those in-house things and maybe
wasn't a part of a report at all.
Otherwise, all the WPA of Louisiana stuff is from the 20s, 30s and
40s. Is there any other date information on your map? Acquisition
date or something?
The first "Elements of Geography" by Finch came out in 1936 and the
last into the 70's.
So, you're narrowing your date from 1936-197-?. I'm not much help.
Good luck.
Angie

Hi!
I found this map of New Orleans (see attached photos) in our collection -- Topography, Soils, and Flood Protection. We are not able to identify any bibliographic information for it (searching worldcat, google, etc.). It looks like it may have been part of a report or set of maps on soils of the city. I checked the Soil Survey, but this didn't show up. We also did some searching through various reports to see if we could identify it today.
The sources on the map (second attached photo) indicate: US Corps of Engineers, Works Progress Administration of LA, New Orleans Levee Board, and Elements of Geography, by Fingh.
Does anyone have any this map in their collection or any bibliographic info
Thanks for any leads you can provide!
K.
