First of all, at the front, before you are confronted with their tables, there is an option to select the data set of interest (for example 2010 Census Data). I also downloaded some data this afternoon, and found that the Census Bureau is now supplying a GeoID2 field (in other words a functional FIPS Code). Finally, they also have a 2010 Tiger Line Boundary Download site at: http://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/geo/shapefiles2010/main. I am still waiting for the boundary data to download (Illinois Blocks). So, I will see if the FIPS codes (geoID2) work with the boundary files. Stay tuned. They may be making progress.
