He has probably the largest and best private library of the history of geodesy/surveying presently known. The Bad News: he doesn't have email; but I can give you his fax and 'phone numbers privately, if you wish to follow up. I have seen many editions of Gemma Frisius when I used to work at the University Library in Leuven. These diagrams look very familiar. I would suggest to check for Italians editions in: Fernand van Ortroy, Bio-bibliographie de Gemma Frisius: fondateur de l'Ecole belge de géographie, de son fils Corneille et de ses neveux les Arsenius. Bruxelles, 1920. Unfortunately, I don't have it available here at the archives. Can anyone help identify these cosmographic diagrams, which appear on the recto and verso of (part of ) the same sheet of paper? They have been trimmed from a larger page, and measure 190 x 170 mm. The text on the verso is in Italian, and thought to be 16th century. Thanks for any help, Judith.
