Position: Photogrammetric Systems Engineer
Location: MISSOURI OFFICE

Job Description:

 

JOB SUMMARY: Under supervision, support production activities relating to the generation of image-based and/or vector-based products. Nominal requirements for this position include (1) gaining significant hands-on production experience to support one or more production efforts, (2) performing analyses, design, testing and/or evaluation of one or more components of analytical photogrammetric systems, (3) interfacing with Production and Engineering personnel to resolve problems with production system operations and (4) devising routine solutions to production problems, work with software engineers to implement new software programs into the production environment. 
Responsibilities %'s subject to change depending on production line duties % of time
  Implementation of new production processes – including production system design, production system development (e.g., scripting), production system maintenance, documentation distribution (procedures, tracking, and quality control). 20%
  Design, implement, and document solutions to production problems, improving system efficiency and output quality through scripts. 20%
  Interface with Production and Engineering personnel to resolve problems with production system operations (e.g., trouble-shooting). 15%
  Perform daily production activities to produce and deliver standard or custom products. May include feature extraction, data preparation, point correlation, point mensuration, triangulation, dynamic range adjustments, radiometric balancing, orthorectification, mosaicking, product generation, and associated quality control tasks. 40%
  Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, database design/management, computer system design/management, and facility improvements. 5%
Education  Bachelors Degree. Preferred disciplines include Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Geodetic Sciences.  n/a
Experience Four years work experience in the mapping industry.    
Computer Environment  Office Suite, one or more programming language, two or more computer operating systems, database design & management, computer system maintenance, hands-on production expertise relating to one or more GeoEye production systems preferred.  N/A
Additional Skills / Communication / Certifications / Licenses Ability to work independently and demonstrate basic problem-solving skills relating to the mapping sciences. N/A
Security Clearance  Ability to apply for and hold a national security clearance required.  N/A
