Results from the slightly flawed survey sent out on March 8th ... Out of 34 respondents 15 use social media and 19 do not. The parent institutions of 31 respondents use social media. 17 use facebook, 14 use twitter, 3 use google+, 5 use flickr, 7 use youtube, 1 uses foursquare and 9 have blogs with 1 Pinterest user. The majority do not track usage for statistics though 8 do. Most people (12) use social media to announce events while some (7) to engage their users, 4 have used it to field reference questions and 1 user said social media is used for "general awareness." The majority of responses were from Academic Libraries (30) with a handful of others (2 public, 2 private, 4 government). The majority of responses were from the US (28) with 1 from Canada, 2 from the UK, 1 each from Australia, Belgium and Greece. Do you have any other quick survey ideas?
