Hi Naomi,
IÂ looked in Classification Web under G9900 and here is what it says:
G9900Â Â Theoretical maps.
“Class here maps whose primary intent is the illustration or definition of terms and concepts and maps designed to illustrate methods of map making. Class maps of a determinable geographic area with the area.â€
It does not reference a table of any kind.
Sorry I can’t be of further help L

I am cataloging several theoretical maps, with no specific geographic location. At the end of the G schedule is G9900-G9980 for ‘Unlocalized maps’ with G9900 for ‘Theoretical maps’. By looking at similar type records in OCLC it looks like Table G1 has been applied leading to classification G9901 followed by a subject number. This appears logical and useful but using online Classification Web I cannot see the instruction to use a table. Please can someone advise on current practice?
Thanks for any help
Naomi
