If you search for "Maps" in the LC authorities file as "Subject Authority Headings" you will retrieve a list. #1 in the list is "Maps" ("Type of heading: LC genre/form terms for lib & archival materials"). Click on the red icon that says "Authorized & References," you will retrieve a list of the narrower terms along with a link to the authority record itself. I also put this in the group of "ready reference" handouts in a binder of materials for those attending the last couple of map cataloging workshops I've delivered, including at the CARTO 2013 meeting held at the Univ. of Alberta, Edmonton. To my knowledge there have been no changes/additions to this list in at least a year. Does such a list exist? The SACO Proposal website from 2011 indicates, "In May 2010 the Policy and Standards Division (PSD) approved approximately 60 genre/form terms for use with cartographic materials. LC catalogers have used those headings in new cataloging since September 1, 2010.", but I am unable to find the list of the 60 genre/form terms for cartographic materials.
