Hi Susan, We like our map rails and use binder clips, as you said, but we’ve also found that they aren’t very flexible in creating a nice display. We are looking at “hanging systems” (who knew there was such a thing!), like these ones: https://www.ashanging.com/en/gallery/cable-system.html/ so we can accommodate maps/aerials/classwork using our collections of various sizes and easily switch things out. -Katie Katie Lage Head and Map Librarian, Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library Associate Professor Sciences Department, University Libraries 184 UCB University of Colorado Boulder Boulder, CO 80309 303-735-4917 http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/earthsciences/ From: Maps-L: Map Librarians, etc. [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Heather Ross Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2015 6:44 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: experiences displaying maps on display rails? We have a few similar to the Tackless system. They hold maps well, but if they are stuck on the wall with double sided tape they will fall off. You are better off with something that will screw into the wall. Heather Ross Manager, Donald W. Good afternoon, We'd like to show off some of our new map acquisitions and are looking at some different display rail options. One option would be something like: http://www.demco.com/goto?BLS172159 where we'd hang binder clips from the hooks to hold the maps. Another option is the "tackless" style rail (something like http://www.demco.com/goto?BLS172155) which grabs the top of the map. We'd appreciate hearing any experiences using either of these systems, or others. Thanks!
