Lead Curator, Digital Mapping
Salary is c. £38,891 per annum

Working with curators and other specialists across contemporary British publications, map collections, and digital scholarship, you will be responsible for collection development and management
of digital mapping. This will include management of ‘born-digital’ mapping created in the UK, and innovative re-use and exploitation of new spatial information generated through digitisation and related projects. Building partnerships is an important part
of this role, and you will work collaboratively with digital maps specialists in the other Legal Deposit Libraries of the UK. In addition, your knowledge and experience of the use of digital mapping and spatial data will contribute to our research, cultural
and learning activities.
You will have a first degree in Geography or a related discipline, and will have made use of digital mapping and Geographic Information
Systems for research. You will have had experience of working in a research library, including the description of printed or digital maps. In addition, you will possess strong team working and influencing skills, such as communicating change and motivating
others.
Working with specialist curators and collections of one of the largest and most significant map collections in the world, this post is an opportunity to take a leading role in the management
and future development of the national collection of digital mapping.
